MAKiN' iT Curriculum and Training

Let YDRF experts assist you in the development and Implementation of this youth culturally competent curriculum model. YDRF’s staff will spend a total of six days with your organizations guiding them with implementation and delivery.

The MAKIN’ It Curriculum and Program Manual, developed by the Youth Development and Research Fund (YDRF), is a workforce preparation/life skills program for young adults ages 14 - 24. The MAKiN’ It Curriculum and Program Manual is a revolution in reaching youth because it organizes programs to take a look at their most valuable asset - youth. It is an entirely new method for connecting with youth and then using youth to produce positive program outcomes for their peers and programs alike. In the The MAKiN’ It Curriculum and Program Manual, you will receive YDRF's:

• YCC Staff Development Curriculum: 15 hours of staff instruction on incorporating YCC into current program design.
• YCC Youth Leader Training Curriculum: 30 hours of impactful training for young adults wanting to assume responsibility for promoting: 1)educational and workforce achievement among their peers and 2) the importance of YCC throughout the program.
• YCC Pre-Employment/Life Skills Development Curriculum: more than 40 hours of YCC Pre-Employment/Life Skills instruction focusing on the use of peer influence, youth involvement and youth popular culture.
• YCC Program Improvement Projects: 21 YCC projects to guide your organization in increasing the level of youth cultural competence. All Program Improvement Projects are to be led by YCC Project Leadership Teams comprised of youth and adults.
• YCC Project Management Guide: A Practical method to track your agency's progress towards YCC. Excellent management tool. Call YDRF for sample unit.
