Youth in DC Foster Care Learn YCC
DC Child and Family Services has engaged YDRF to develop a cadre of Peer Support Workers to assist in the development and delivery of a new life skills program. As part of their new vision for serving youth in the foster care system, DC Child and Family services wants to make programs and activities more youth friendly, increase the level of youth involvement in planning and decision making and increase their ability to utilize the power of peer influence to promote positive outcomes for the young adults entrusted to their care. Over the next twelve weeks, YDRF staff is on-site working with and staff to build YCC effectiveness.

Tacoma, Washington goes YCC
Goodwill Industries of Tacoma WA is hot underway in the development of a new 12 million dollar Youth Career Development Center (YCDC). Instead of following the traditional one-stop employment center, administrators at Goodwill wanted to make sure the new center possesses a high degree of YCC. To this end, YDRF was called in to lead a multi-partner planning process in the development of the new facility. Representatives of various youth serving organizations are coming together over a three month period to lay out a strategic plan for the YCDC that is based on the three principles of YCC: Positive Peer Influence, Youth Involvement and Youth Popular culture.
