Milan, Ohio goes YCC
“This is exactly the kind of training we have been needing and looking for, says Cathy Belfiore-Watson, Success for Youth WIA Grant Coordinator, “In the fall, we will be implementing the YDRF training methods in Sandusky and Seneca counties. Before our program, youth only saw themselves at a dead end. With the help of YDRF they now see their opportunities as endless.” Seven young adults from Milan, Ohio just competed a 28 hour Per Support Worker Training with YDRF’s Tony Jackson. The Milan Seven will join other PSWs across the country in an effort to increase the YCC of workforce services and schools. Other Ohio chapters are popping up in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Portage, Columbus and Akron. “We are starting a movement here in Ohio,” states YDRF’s Tony Jackson. “It is time to use our number one resource – youth to help us get the message across.”
